Board + Train

Board-and-train programs are an excellent option for families and individuals with busy lifestyles who simply don’t have the time to commit to training. Your dog will be immersed in a structured daily routine of training, exercise, socialization, enrichment, and mental stimulation, with a focus on fostering a calm state of mind.

Each B+T includes a mid-stay lesson and a comprehensive go-home lesson, where I’ll transfer everything I’ve taught your dog to you. This is about making sure you know how to properly reinforce at home, so that you are both set up for success.

There are three types of programs depending on the dog’s needs.

  • The first few days are about settling in and decompressing while I establish rules and a routine. I start with relationship-building and engagement exercises, and from there, we dive into obedience. In addition to crate training, general manners, and learning proper play, your dog will learn 5 basic commands.

    • Sit/Stay

    • Down/Stay

    • Place

    • Heel

    • Come

I will also address any minor behavioral issues, such as jumping, nipping, and counter-surfing.

    Tools Included: None
    Tools Not Included: Placecot, Collar

    Cost: 4 weeks, $4,000

  • Advanced Obedience with Off Leash Reliability (6 weeks)

In addition to everything included in the Basic B+T package, this package prepares your dog for an off-leash life. Obedience is taken to the next level by challenging your dog to the 3D’s of dog training: Distance, Duration, and Distractions. Your dog will build a solid recall during this phase.

Your dog is set up for success by properly conditioning them to an ecollar early on to prevent a ‘collar smart’ dog. Behaviors will be proofed under high-level distractions to ensure obedience in any environment.

*Please understand that no dog is fully trained in three, four, or six weeks. These board-and-train programs are meant to provide your dog with a solid training foundation and, more importantly, to equip you, the owner, with the tools necessary to succeed long-term. It is the owner’s responsibility to continue training and reinforce commands/behaviors to achieve long-term success.

    Tools Included: ECollar
    Tools Not Included: Placecot, Collar

  • Dogs with more specific behavioral issues—separation anxiety, aggression, resource guarding, etc.—will benefit from an immersive program. Unwanted behaviors don’t happen overnight; changing those behaviors takes time.

These programs start at 4 weeks and can extend to 6 weeks, depending on the severity of the issues at hand. Base price is $4000.
